The action:

One night Nick comes home and he meets Gatsby. They both agree to invite Daisy the next day for tea, Gatsby wants to meet Daisy again after five years. Gatsby has Nick’s lawn cut to make it look good for Daisy. He offers a “small” job to Nick who refuses. Nick invites Daisy and tells her to come alone. Gatsby comes over to Nick’s place, but he slips out of the backdoor as soon as Daisy arrives. Nick takes Daisy in the living room, and Gatsby rings the front bell to enter. Daisy and Gatsby meet in Nick’s living room. Nick feels out of place. Gatsby is really embarrassed and acts like a little boy. After he had an eye to eye conversation with Gatsby in the kitchen, Nick runs out into the rain and finds shelter under a big tree. After he has waited for half an hour, the sun comes out and he decides to go back into the house. When he comes into the living room her realizes a change in Gatsby’s behaviour, he is simply in “heaven”. They decide to go to Gatsby’s house. While Daisy cleans herself in Nick’s bathroom, Nick tries to get information from Gatsby concerning is job. But Gatsby just gives vague answers.They go over to Gatsby’s mansion, Daisy is surprised by its beauty and richness. Gatsby shows Daisy and Nick around the house. The stop in Gatsby’s own apartment. Gatsby shows them all his expensive shirts. Daisy starts to cry and says that she never saw such expensive shirts before. Gatsby wanted to show them his garden with the swimming pool too, but it had started to rain again. So Gatsby decides that Mr. Klipspringer one of the inhabitants of his house should play the piano for his guests. They go down into the music-room. Daisy and Gatsby sit down at a couch at the gloomy side of the room. Mr. Klipspringer starts to play the piano and Nicks decides to leave the two alone. Gatsby looked absent when Nick said goodbye to him and left the house.
