First of all, Harlem is a black ghetto, where almost poor and unemployed people live.They have less money, and they live in tumbledown houses, because they can't afford the renovations of the old houses and most of the landlords don't want to renovate them.Moreover the public schools are bad and poor, so the kids have enough spare time, where they don't know what to do.That's the reason why they spend a lot of time in gangs or on the streets. Most of young kids are drink alcohol or deal with drugs.
The education is almost not so good,because in many families are single parents where the father has gone away, and the children are grow up alone, because the mother has to work.
Unfortunately it is very hard for the kids to get out of this "vicious circle" and live a proper life.
How does it feel for someone to grow up in social situation like this?
