Prison life timetable
A prison is an institution, where the prisoners are kept in detention, until they are or seem to be educated enough for coming back in the community. Prisoners work half the day to earn some money. So, they can buy some extras, like cigarettes or additional food and drinks. They have a few hours a week for sports e.g. boxing, football or playing chess. There is also the possibility to watch TV or to draw pictures during that time. Once a week you can go to a church service or you can be visited by your family or some friends.
The cells are little rooms. There has to fit in a bed, a cupboard and a table. It has to be habitable. In most cases the cells are about ten square meters large. You can have personal things in your cell e.g. a TV or books. You are also allowed to have a canary in a bird cage in your cell. That makes some prisoners bahave tame. The most reasons why people become criminal is because they lost their work, their houses, their wifes or their money. Teenagers often do crimes because they are bored or their parents don’t pay attention to them.
